The rise of women to management positions at AGS |
This is not an uncommon occurrence:
positions of authority and decision-making are still not accessible to women. Despite some publicised cases in politics, the media and business, most positions of authority are still held by men.
The conditions within the AGS Group allow for equality of opportunities, and this has enabled women of exceptional calibre to occupy managerial positions.
At AGS, there are many examples of this positive trend. Often from varying career paths, these women who were formerly members of management and who excelled in their respective fields, are promoted within our group to manage AGS branches.
The first woman under the AGS spotlight is Anne-Marie Guirourd-Aizee. Having joined AGS Martinique in 1985 as an Administrative Assistant, Anne-Marie was appointed as Administrative Manager of AGS Marseille in 1989, where at the time, AGS Marseille was the second largest branch of the Group (Marseilles is considered as the hub of southern France). In 1998, Anne-Marie was promoted to Administrative Director of the southern region of France. |
From 2003 to 2005, Anne-Marie was entrusted with several work assignments in Africa, before being appointed to Branch Manager of AGS Mayotte in May 2005. Since January 2007, Anne-Marie is the Branch Manager of AGS Tahiti. Anne-Marie dedicates an enormous amount of her time and energy to the company, and she is also a mother who enjoys DIY projects at home.

Ingrid Lamblin, a Hungaro-French, returned to Hungary and began her career in the international transport industry 16 years ago. In 2001, Ingrid joined AGS as a sales representative. Ingrid is fluent in French, English, Hungarian, Spanish, and a bit of Arabic and German. Ingrid was promoted to Branch Manager of AGS Budapest on 1 st April 2007 (Ingrid is no April fool), and has a wealth of experience in the removals and relocations industry. |
Ingrid’s motivation stems from her willingness to help people, and she is actively involved in several charity organisations in Budapest. More recently, Ingrid devotes much of her free time to raising her two children, a little girl of 4½ years of age, and a little boy only 23 months old.

Other well deserving women within the AGS Group climbed the corporate ladder as Branch Managers, such as Bettina Priilaid in Namibia, Chantal Robert in Rabat (Morocco), Jocelyne Mulera in Tanzania and Venus Havenga in Lesotho.
All of these outstanding women have contributed immensely to the company, and have been rightfully rewarded. The transport industry is tough, and at AGS, we are delighted to see that women are succeeding brilliantly. AGS has been enriched by the contributions made by all of these dynamic women, and in the challenging arena of international removals, a multiplicity of perspectives is a valuable asset.
Once again, well done to all of these exceptional ladies!

Purchase of 500 new European liftvans
In view of growing intra-European traffic, and in line with AGS’s policy of continual improvement of the quality of our service, we have invested in 500 additional European liftvans.
There are many advantages to the use of the European Liftvan: the client’s personal effects are loaded and unloaded at his residence and the European Liftvan remains sealed from one end to the other, thus eliminating multiple handling of boxes and therefore risk of damages.
The goods can be delivered immediately to the client’s house or stored in our warehouses until such time that is convenient. |
The size of the European Liftvan is also ideal (10m³), and it allows for the sharing of a truck without mixing the cargo. The smaller liftvans are perfect for an urban environment; these can be loaded onto small 3.5 ton trucks (some cities, like Lisbon, do not allow large trucks in the city bowl).
The European Liftvan simplifies customs procedures, as each one is treated as a single customs unit. |
The environment also benefits from this concept: fewer trucks are on the roads and empty ones are less frequent, therefore reducing the emission of gases which cause the greenhouse effect.
Finally, delivery is performed by a team from the branch at destination, where other staff at this branch are refreshed and ready to offer a consistently high quality of service. |

AGS Four Winds Singapore promotes exposure for the Group |
AGS Four Winds Singapore participated, for the very first time, as an exhibitor at the HR Summit 2007 Talent and Workplace Strategies Expo, which took place on 9th and 10th of May at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre, Singapore.
The HR Summit, now in its fifth year, is the largest gathering of industry professionals in the region and the only event of this nature and magnitude in Asia.
The Summit allowed for the AGS Four Winds team the opportunity to meet Human Resource professionals and business leaders from across the globe; as well as over thirty leading international speakers, ninety solution providers, and the ability to network with peers. |
The AGS Four Winds exhibition stand was strategically placed for maximum exposure. During the course of the first day, AGS Four Winds-branded recycle bags, corporate brochures and post-it note pads were given out to delegates and visitors at the Expo. By the end of the second day, our corporate gifts reached more than 2000 Human Resource professionals.
The AGS Four Winds exhibition stand was adorned with striking AGS Four Winds banners, as well as a television screen which displayed the AGS presentation to all visitors to our exhibition stand.
Together with OTO Bodycare, we sponsored a ‘ Sit back, relax and enjoy corner! AGS Four Winds, you deserve the best!’ With the AGS film as our back-drop, our visitors were treated to several luxurious massage equipment |
At the closing of the second day, AGS Four Winds held a lucky draw from the name cards that were collected, and the winner, the Human Resource Manager of S.T. Microelectronics Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, won the top prize of an OTO Spinex SPX-500A Stress Reliever and Slimming Massager.
A special thanks is owing to the AGS Four Winds team for all their efforts in sending out the pre-event invites, organizing the logistics, manpower, exhibition stands, uniforms, complimentary gifts, and post-event emails.

AGS Four Winds, a constant presence at the side of the international community |
The French International School in Hong Kong organises a fair every year in June. This year the event took place on Saturday 9th June. The fair represents the end of the school semester and the start of the summer holidays for both students and teachers. |
AGS Four Winds Hong Kong participated in the fair, and Amine Loukia, the Corporate Sales Manager, represented the company from an AGS Four Winds exhibition stand. Leaflets and corporate gifts were distributed to many, and much interest was show by a number of prospective transferees who expressed an interest in the dynamics of relocating. Amine Loukia offered advice to interested parties, and assured them of our exceptional service standards and professionalism.
Complimentary corporate gifts were given out, such as bags, pens, colouring books, toys and balloons, and these stirred up much excitement for everyone at the fair. Many people displayed their interest by visiting the AGS Four Winds exhibition stand, and most were thrilled to receive information with regards to AGS Four Winds’ Services.
The number of attendees at the fair this year exceeded 500 people, and AGS Four Winds Hong Kong’s representative, Amine Loukia, was available during the course of the entire day to answer any questions from parents and staff, who requested information and advice regarding relocations.
